Now is as good a time as any, I suppose, to detail what I’ve been up to lately.

● Way back in March, I was compelled (translation: probably drunk off my ass) to watch TWILIGHT. In order to make it more fun than that job would normally entail, I decided to livestream my review on FriendFeed. Needless to say, hilarity ensued and a few weeks later, I started doing this sort of thing every week with Sean Loyless, aka Haggis, a fellow FriendFeeder, at something we call Tex-Mex Movie Reviews. Not sure what’s going to happen with the reviews after Facebook burns down the joint for the insurance money assimilates FriendFeed into the fold, so I guess we’ll just ride it out and see. If nothing else, maybe we can convert it to a podcast a la Technicolor Commentary.

● A few months ago, I started a podcast with Amber Spence, a fellow FriendFeeder. We call it Random Time Lords, and so far we’ve compiled ten episodes (nine regular eps and one special one for the death of FriendFeed) and managed not to get banned by the FCC. The regular site is here, and I also created a Tumblr mirror for those kids that loves their tumblr. We usually talk about whatever comes into our view, which was easier to do with FriendFeed’s help, but I don’t think we’ll run out of stuff to talk about anytime soon. Recently, we’ve had various users of FriendFeed join our little recordings, which has been great fun all around.

● I finally splurged for a new PC. I bought a Dell Mini 9 from the Dell Outlet Store. 8GB SSD, 512 MB of RAM, running XP, all for $199.

Her name is Athena.

I love my new little box. I’ve already kicked the memory up to a full GB, and once I procure a new SSD (got my eye on the Runcore 32GB) and a DVD burner, I can finally hackintosh it properly and see what all the hubbub is about with OS X.

● And now comes the hard part: I’m moving back to Texas in the middle of September. Yeah, I know: “Wild horses couldn’t drag me back to Texas.” I said that. But I honestly can’t go anywhere in Albuquerque any more without thinking about Rebecca. I need a change. And so, come the middle of September, I will be newly moved to San Marcos, Texas. I’ll probably be down the road from Joel, Ruth and Celeste, so I’ll finally get to meet the Little Star. And I’ll finally get to hang out with Haggis and Christian and Aden and the Martinez clan and Sean and Amber and all the other FriendFeeders there.

And that should catch you up for now.
